In the context of the realization of the next International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF2020), the International DORIS Service (IDS) delivered a series of weekly solutions from January 1993 to December 2020.0. After reviewing the major IDS modelling upgrades between ITRF2014 and ITRF2020, this study assesses the performances of the IDS contribution to the ITRF2020 in terms of (1) geocenter and scale solutions; (2) station positions and week-to-week repeatability; (3) Earth orientation parameters; (4) cumulative position and velocity solution.
Then, the IDS Combination Center (CC) addresses the DORIS validation of the DTRF2020, ITRF2020 and JTRF2020 solutions.
Finally, the IDS CC will deal with some major issues for the DORIS contribution to the next ITRF realization.
